Finding your Niche in photography, financially and personally. What are my gifts? How can I best use them?
Each of us are totally unique creations (just like everyone else)! The focus of this session will be to help you discover what your passion is photographically and what are the markets that can become a home for your work. Weddings, Seniors, Sports and event photography, real estate and public service are just a few topics that we will entertain. I will discuss my journey photographically as they have included all of the above. This business is continually evolving, and lots of folks are taking short cuts through AI to try to find a home. Where are you? Who is there to "coach" you through all of this?
Jon Robichaud
Jon Robichaud first had his interest kindled in photography while studying music at the University of Kansas. He studied photojournalism at KU in addition to music.
Serving as high school band director in Kansas and Missouri for over 37 years, he continued to develop his passion for photography by shooting music ensembles, NCAA and professional sports as well as landscape and wildlife. He has been hired to shoot athletics for the University of Oklahoma, Texas Tech University, Illinois State University, Baylor University, the University of Florida and the University of Kansas just to name a few. Currently, Jon is employed by United Press International (UPI), Cal Sports Media and the University of Kansas to cover NFL, MLB and NCAA in that order. His work has been used by AP wire services and many publications. In 2023, UPI selected two of Jon’s photos as 2023 pictures of the year. One in entertainment and one in sports.
He is a member of Sony Professional services and has been a member of both Canon and Nikon Professional services.
Although music ensembles and sports consume most of Jon’s photographic time he continues to be fascinated with landscape, astro, wildlife, and live dance photography.
